Alan Bailey, age 85 died on August 12, 2018 at his home in Woodbury where he lived over 60 years. Born and raised in Maple Shade, Alan graduated from Moorestown High School in 1950. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Alan received his BS in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University in 1967. He worked for Smith Kline in Philadelphia over 30 years, retiring as Process Engineer.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #133. Alan loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events and any sporting event at Woodbury High School. Alan loved nature, birds, fishing and going to the shore. Al also loved and enjoyed learning about science, history and any conspiracy theories. He also socialized internationally through Words with Friends and Facebook.
Predeceased in 2010 by his wife of 50 years, Lois (nee Maloney) and seven siblings. Survived by his daughters Patricia (Cindy) Mulligan, Teresa (George) Bailey Stebich, Mary Colleen (Doug) Bailey Seebergh, sister Rena “Sis” Hutchinson, grandchildren James (Alison) Mulligan, Sean (Liz) Mulligan, Jordan, Madison and Mackenzie Stebich, Nora and Patrick Seebergh and his beloved cat Blacky Bailey. He was also known as Uncle Al to his many nieces and nephews.
Friends may greet the family on Friday after 10am in the Budd Funeral Home, 522 Salem Ave, Woodbury, NJ. Memorial service will be at 11am. Interment Woodbury Memorial Park. Alan was extremely generous with charities, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org. Memories may be shared at www.buddfuneralhome.com.
